Argentina Tours & Travel - A spin through the North

Day 1: Salta:
Upon arrival, a transfer awaits to bring you to your hotel. We suggest a visit to the Mamm Museum as well as the historical Town Hall (closed on Mondays).

Day 2: Salta, city tour:
At afternoon, a city tour through the city and its surroundings:the Town Hall, Chatedral, San Fransisco church, the convent of San Bernardo, San Bernardo hill, National University, Vaqueros river,Gorge of Castellanos, Lesser, the village of San Lorenzo and the artesenal market.

Day 3: Salta (free day):
Free to realize additional excursion or enjoy the city.

Day 4: Salta - Pumamarca (or Tilcara):
After breakfast, exit from Salta passing through the villages of Quijano Field and White River. From there we continue via highway 51 and the traintracks of the Train through the Clouds until we reach the Gorge of El Toro, close to San Antonio de los Cobres. Then we continue on via highway 40, skirting the great Salt flats that form a vast white horizone tinted different shades from the sun. We descend via the imposing Cuesta de Lipán to arrive to the village of Purmamarca, which sits on the hill of seven colors. Arrival to hotel in Purmamarca or Tilcara.

Day 5: Purmamarca (or Tilcara) - Salta:
Leave from Purmamarca (or Tilcara) and continuing on towards Tilcara (the arqueological capital of the Northwest) where we´ll visit Pucará and the arqueological museum. Next from there a visit to the church of Uquía (which still conserves its typical paintings). Upon arrival to Humahuaca, a city Tour. Lunch is free election. In the afternoon, return to Salta with a visit of Jujuy.

Day 6: Salta - Cafayate:
Visit to Cafayate (famous for its production of torrontés wine), continuing on to the gorge of Cafayate where we can appreciate the various geographical strata made from eolic erosion: the obelisk, the key, and throat of the devil, amongst others. Vineyard tour. Lunch is free election and the rest of the day free to explore.

Day 7: Cafayate - Tucumán:
Breakfast and an outing to the ruins of Quilmes and Tafí; we´ll also pass by the valley of Amaicha. From Quilmes we ascend to the peaks of calchaquíes until arrival at the altitude of 3,042 meters. From there we start to descend towards the valley of Tafí. A brief visit in Tafí and its church La Banda. Continuing on to highway 307 where we´ll visit the gorge of los Sosa, a zone of abundant vegetation (yungas) upon arrival to Tucumán, a city tour which includes the cathedral, the historical house of culture, Independenze plaza, 9 de Julio park, and the principle historical sites. We suggest a visit to the Historical house of Tucuman with its museum in the afternoon and the night free to enjoy the spectacular light and sound-show.

Day 8: Tucumán
Breakfast, transfer to the airport to return to Buenos Aires.
