Day 1 Arrival in Puerto Iguazu & Iguazu Falls Tour
Fly into the Puerto Iguazu airport on the Argentine side of the Iguazu Waterfalls. During the flight, you may catch sight of the amazing Iguazu Falls, one of the world's most impressive waterfalls. Upon arrival in the airport, a guide will greet you and transfer you to your 5* Hotel International Sheraton hotel in the town of Puerto Iguazu.
Once settled in your hotel, begin the excursion to the Iguazu Falls themselves. The waterfalls strattle the border between Argentina and Brazil, and there are breathtaking vistas from both sides of the waterfalls. Start on the Argentine side, visiting the Iguazú National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you will find a lush subtropical jungle full of toucans, monkeys, butterflies, and other wildlife. The forest breaks and you can view the waterfall - actually 275 waterfalls - from up close. One of the highlights of this viewpoint is the Devil's Throat, the largest of the waterfalls. Later, take a quick trip over the border into Brazil, and visit the Brazilian side of the Iguaçú Falls. There are walkways on this side that lead out over the water, giving panormas of the majestic falls.
In the late afternoon, as the sun sets over the falls and endless rainbows emerge from the mist, your guide will transfer you back to your hotel in Puerto Iguazu. The Hotel Sheraton is the only hotel located inside the Iguazú National Park.
Day 2 Great Adventure Boat Ride & BBQ Dinner
After breakfast at the Hotel Sheraton, enjoy another guided tour of the Iguazu Falls, this time including the Great Adventure Boat Ride under the waterfalls. Enter the jungle on the Sendero Yacaratía trail, arriving at the shore below the falls, and board the motorboat for the Great Adventure Safari. Head upriver towards the falls, passing San Martin Island, until you are wrapped in the mist and can hear the roar of the falls. Return to the shore and follow the trail through the jungle back to the entrance of the Iguazú National Park.
Your guide will transfer you back to your hotel, where you can rest easy before heading out in the evening for a wonderful dinner and show at the BBQ House Rafain. Get a taste of a unique blend of Brazilian and Argentine culture at this famous restaurant. Plus, be treated to a variety of Latin American music and dances, including tango, samba, and capoeria. In the late evening, your driver will transfer you back to the Hotel Sheraton.
Day 3 Arrival at the Yacutinga Lodge
After breakfast in your hotel, your guide will escort you to the Raices Pier near Puerto Iguazu. Then transfer to the Yacutinga Lodge for a day full of activities at this eco-lodge located in the Yacutinga Wildlife Reserve, just 2 hours from Puerto Iguazu. Nestled in the Missiones forest, the beautiful Yacutinga Lodge is the only eco-lodge of its kind in Argentina. The beautiful exposed wood beam architecture are all locally-sourced and create a warm, elegant atmosphere. The guest rooms all include private bathrooms, and unique, handcrafted artwork. Spend the night at the Yacutinga Lodge, which includes all meals.
Day 4 Yacutinga Lodge
After an early breakfast in the lodge, begin the day with a guided kayak ride along the quiet Arroyo San Francisco. Keep an eye out for wildlife and especially birds, which are most active in the mornings. You may spot kites, parakeets, toucanets, puffbirds, woodpeckers, antwrens, flycatchers, thrushes, jacanas, and more. Float along the river and the natural reserve, taking in the immense beauty of this subtropical rainforest. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, enjoy free time in the swimming pool, walk along the Orchid Trail, observe the Hummingbird Project, or simply enjoying a tropical drink and a good book. Then a naturalist guide will lead nature walks through the surrounding forest, pointing out different species of orchids and bromeliads, while also looking out for wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner.
Once dusk sets, enjoy a nighttime nature walk, listening to the sounds of the jungle, including frogs, insects, screech owl, and nighthawks. Your guide may also be able to spot cabybaras and other nocturnal wildlife with his flashlight.
Day 5 Return to Puerto Iguazu
Eat an early breakfast in the lodge, and then enjoy some free time walking along the nature trails or relaxing near the lodge. Pack up and have an early lunch before returning to Puerto Iguazu. Then transfer to the airport for your flight home or to your next destination.
