The Classic Patagonia Tour

8 days Puerto Madryn, Ushuaia, El Calafate
This classic Patagonia tour covers much of Patagonia's highlights, starting in Puerto Madryn on the coast of Argentina, and then heading south to Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego, and finishing in El Calafate. Puerto Madryn is well-known for its wildlife refuge in the Valdes Peninsula, where penguins, sea lions, birds, and whales are often spotted. Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world, and is a picturesque port city facing the Beagle Channel. This narrow-gauge railway was once the getaway train for Butch Cassidy and his cohorts as they escaped from Argentina into Bolivia. Stop in El Bolsón, a traditional Patagonia town where you'll board the train to Esquel. Visit the nearby Welsh town of Trevelin, a wheat farming town where you'll find delicious pastries in Welsh style as well as quaint Welsh tea houses.
