Patagonia Tour to Mount Fitz Roy

Day 1 Arrival in El Calafate & El Chaltén, Trekking to Torre Lagoon
Fly into the El Calafate airport (FTE), where your Patagonia tour guide will greet you and take you to the bus station for the journey to El Chaltén. Once in this hiker's town, meet your trekking partners and guide and head to the Torre Lake trailhead for a 6 hour hike through the Mt Fitz Roy river valley to the Torre Lagoon. Along the way, you'll enjoy sweeping views of the Solo, Adela, and Torre hills and classic Patagonia landscapes. Continue along the trail to the Grande and Torre Glaciers. Pass through the Padre de Agostini camp site and Patagonian forest until you reach the river, and then follow its winding path to the Torre Lagoon itself. Rest at the banks of the lagoon and take in the views of the surrounding glaciers, hills, and snow-capped peaks. Return to the trailhead and transfer back to El Chaltén. Check into the 3* Hosteria Senderos for the night. This traditional Patagonian style hostel is inspired by 20th century estancias, and has 20 comfortable guest rooms and a family suite.

Day 2 Trekking to Laguna de los Tres
After an early, hearty breakfast in the Hosteria Senderos, your Patagonia tour guide will take you to the trailhead for the full-day Laguna de los Tres excursion. The 2 hour hike is moderately difficult. From El Chaltén, your group will head to the Poincenot camping site, which is the starting point for the trek. Begin the trek with a 400 meter incline, passing glacier moraines with incredbile views of the Laguna de los Tres and the adjacent glacier. Continue to the Sucia Lagoon with its surrounding glaciers. Admire the sunrise over the glaciers and hills as the sun lights up the Mt Fitz Roy peak. Trace your steps back to the Poincenot camping site and then return to El Chaltén in the late afternoon. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 3 Trekking to Pliegue Tumbado
Get another early start from the Hosteria Senderos after breakfast, and head out on the 8 hour Pliegue Tumbado excursion. Another moderately challenging hike, this one boasts several amazing views of Mt Fitz Roy and the Fitz Roy river valley, Torre Hill, Torre Glacier, and many more glaciers and lagoons. In the late afternoon, return to El Chaltén and pack up for the return trip to El Calafate. Check in to the 4* Hotel Kau Yatun, located at the foot of El Calafate Hill. There are 50 deluxe guest rooms with jacuzzi tubs, and plenty of amenities. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the tub after your Patagonia hiking tour, and spend the rest of the evening at your leisure. Either walk into town for dinner or dine at the hotel's La Brida or El Quincho restuarants.

Day 4 Depart from El Calafate
Have breakfast in the hotel, and then transfer to the El Calafate airport for your flight to Buenos Aires or to your next destination.
