Santiago Panoramic City Tour

Day 1

This whirlwind tour through Chile starts in Santiago de Chile. Upon arrival at the airport, meet your guide just beyond the security gate to transfer to your hotel downtown. Settle into your hotel and get ready for a panoramic city tour. Visit the main attractions of the capital and appreciate the contrast between the rich history and its modern buildings. Admire the Government Palace, Plaza de Armas (the Main Square), Santa Lucia Hill, the metropolitan park, and the exclusive residential areas of Vitacura and Las Condes. After the city tour, return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 2

Enjoy a full day excursion to some of the best wineries in Chile. Visit the Maipo Valley or the Casablanca Valley and sip delicious wines with a beautiful view of the Andes mountain range. During the tour, learn about the wine making process in the valley and taste a few of the region's specialties, including, Carmenere and other reds varietals. In the early evening return to your hotel in Santiago.

Day 3

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Easter Island. Upon arrival, a local guide will take you to your hotel where you can unwind before embarking on a half-day excursion to see several altars, known as "ahus" Ahu Akivi and Ahu Tahai. Learn about the moai and their significance to the island. Later, visit other famous sites such as Puna Pau, a quarry located near Hanga Roa. If the weather permits, visit some of the popular lava caves located around the island.

Day 4

Rise early and board a local fisherman's boat to see the island from a new perspective. Begin the adventure at Hanga Piko Bay, where you may spot some turtles! As the boat sails across the beautiful blue water, contemplate the nearby caves, soaring cliffs and migratory sea birds that come to nest on the islets off the coast. Learn about the ancient annual birdman competition, "Tangata Manu" in Rapa Nui, and explore Rano Kau, one of the three inactive volcanoes. 

Later, enjoy a half-day excursion and learn how to fish like a local. Experienced guides will teach you to fish with the ancestral fishing methods. Use some of the same materials that were used for catching fish hundreds of years ago. Afterward, return to the hotel with hopefully your catch of the day and enjoy a delicious meal.

Day 5

Today, set off for a full-day excursion with the company of expert local guides. Climb to the top of Rano Kau Volcano and walk the entire perimeter of the crater lip. This route offers incredible views of the volcano, the deep blue Pacific Ocean, and the town of Hanga Roa. Later, visit Ahu Vinapu and the ceremonial village of Orongo, and learn the significance of them to the Rapa Nui culture. Return to your hotel and reflect on your visit to the mysterious Easter Island.

Transfer to Santiago

Day 6

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then transfer to Hanga Roa Airport for your departure from Easter Island. Enjoy a free day in Santiago. Choose to explore the city, visit a nearby vineyard or simply relax in your hotel.

Day Excursion to Torres del Paine National Park

Flight to Punta Arenas & Transfer to Torres del Paine

Day 7

Today you will fly from Santiago to Punta Arenas and travel by coach to the beautiful Torres del Paine National Park. Along the drive admire the beautiful region of Patagonia, look for snowcapped mountain peaks and try to spot guanacos. Settle into your hotel in Torres del Paine National Park and get excited about the outdoor adventures that await. Each day, choose from a variety of excursions, including, hiking, horseback riding, boat navigations and more.

Day 8

Today you can choose from a variety of excursions. One of the more popular options is the Full Paine hike; this is the best way to discover Torres del Paine National Park. On this route, see the parks most famous highlights, admire flora and fauna and take in the spectacular mountains. Enjoy a picnic lunch before reaching Grey Lake where you will have the option to take a walk around the shore or navigate closer to Grey Glacier.

Day 9

Today, take a half-day excursion to see Torres del Paine without all the walking. Experience the varieties of plants, animals and birds while you explore the park. There will be plenty of opportunity for great views of the peaks and the enormous landscapes that have beckoned explorers to the area for years. Visit the sparkling Laguna Amarga before continuing to Patagón where the indigenous Aónikenk people lived more than 7,000 years ago. Hike from Lago Sarmiento to see a collection of Aónikenk drawings still visible on a rock wall. You are likely to run into many of the types of plants and animals that inhabit the area, such as guanacos, rheas and condors - that populated the land during the Aónikenk epoch and are still alive today.

Day 10

Enjoy your final moments in Torres del Paine before transferring to Punta Arenas to catch your flight back to Santiago. Upon arrival in Santiago, a guide will transfer you to your hotel.  Spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 11

Today you transfer from Santiago de Chile to San Pedro de Atacama, the driest desert in the world. Upon arrival in San Pedro de Atacama, take in the first sights of the desert and make your way to your hotel.

Day 12

Today you venture to Death Valley. Ascend the dune and hike north along one of the cornices bordering the valley. This short hike offers stunning panoramic views of the Salt Mountain Range and the natural erosion. The most entertaining part of this excursion is the steep, but enjoyable, descent down the dune. Look across the valley at the unique landscape, as you make your way back to the van. Return to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.

Toconao & Laguna Chaxa

Day 13

Rise early and visit the town of Toconao to tour its main square, authentic church and magnificent bell tower. All of these sites have been declared national monuments. Depending on the season, explore the orchards on your way to the Chaxa Lagoon. As you continue through the salt flats, marvel the unique landscape until you reach Chaxa Lagoon. Admire the flock of flamingoes that reside here and enjoy the extraordinary scenic beauty.
