SouthAmerica.travel is able to design, organize and operate any kind of trip throughout South America. Maintaining our own operations offices in Buenos Aires, Lima and Rio de Janeiro allows us to have highly knowledgeable travel consultants familiar with the whole region.

To give you an idea about our trajectory in the industry see our history:

• Nov 1999: Founding of Universal Understanding GmbH in Stuttgart, Germany, with mission of exploring culture ties to Brazil and to promote expert custom tour planning to Brazil over the internet to a worldwide audience. Launch of 4starBrazil.com.


• Feb 2000: Founding of Universal Understanding LLC in the USA, to offer legal security to our US customers.


• Dec 2001: Launch of 4starArgentina.com and 4starChile.com websites, under the new umbrella website 4starSouthAmerica.com - set for further expansion across South America.


• 2002: Founding of 4star Turismo do Brasil, Ltda as Brazilian Incoming Operator in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Peru and Bolivia added as travel destinations.
• Jan 2003: Purchase of Latin America destination flight consolidator Value Travel Inc. in Washington DC, relaunched as 4starSouthAmerica.


• 2004: Ecuador and Uruguay added as destinations.


• 2005: Founding of 4star Turismo del Peru as Peruvian Incoming Operator in Lima, Peru and 4star Turismo (Argentina) S.R.L. as Argentina Incoming Operator in Buenos Aires, Argentina.


• 2006: Recognizing the decline in the flight consolidator business, Value Travel is spun off to allow 4starSouthAmerica to concentrate on its core Travel Planning business, and lands contracts with multiple flight consolidators to offer clients more choice at lower prices.


• 2007: Awarded coveted website www.SouthAmerica.travel by the .travel administrator Tralliance.


• 2008: Colombia & Paraguay added, as well as expanded Specialty Tours for Golf, Wines, Adventure, Railway, Cruises and Beach Resorts.


• 2009: Consolidation of all 4star websites under www.SouthAmerica.travel website.
