We have nothing but wonderful things to say about the folks at SouthAmerican Travel, Sean in particular. We have just returned from a 17 day trip to Ecuador and Peru and it couldn't have been better! Let me start by saying that we have been fiercely independent travelers all of our lives and have seen most of Europe over the years as well as most of the U.S. We have never hesitated to plan ourselves, book our own flights/hotels/VRBOs/cars, all of it! We find the whole thing fun and part of the adventure. This South America trip was a celebration of retirement (we are 58 and 65) and for some reason the logistics just seemed daunting. We found Sean at South American Travel and he was able to help us navigate a combination of private guides, free days, and lots of the logistics of our two countries. It was perfect! We had already booked our flights into and out of South America from Denver, so he worked with our existing dates and knew what our "must do's" were. At every step, it was organized, problem-free and we can honestly say that this trip would have NEVER been as fulfilling without this help. We explored Quito and the surrounding towns in Ecuador, took a 3 day cruise to the Galapagos, and then really spent time in Peru with our local guide Alexis who was a phenomenal historian regarding the Incan empire, the ruins, and was invaluable as we hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Again we had some free time to explore Lima, the Sacred Valley, but the guidance added the icing to the cake! Overall, if you are considering the use of South American travel...don't hesitate, just do it. It'll take your good vacation and turn it into an experience of a lifetime!
