** Note for Travelers from New Zealand, South Africa, and other Latin American countries

Travelers from New Zealand, South Africa, and many other Latin American countries DO NOT REQUIRE A VISA to enter Brazil. However, it is still very important you check with your local consulate or embassy for the most up-to-date visa & passport requirements.

Passport Requirements:

Citizens of ALL countries: To enter Brazil, your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your travel dates. For example, if you are traveling to Brazil in March, your passport must be valid through September of that year.

We strongly recommend making copies of your passport. Keep your original passport locked away in the safe of your hotel and carry a photocopy of your passport with you during your travels. You might also consider purchasing a passport holder to keep all your documents safe.

Vaccination Recommendations:

We highly recommend visiting the World Health Organization website for the most up-to-date country-specific vaccination requirements.

Traveling with Children:

If you are traveling with a minor (below 18 years of age), the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate may require a birth certificate and notarized authorization from both parents or legal guardian. Please have these documents ready if a minor is applying for a visa:

  • Passport bio page
  • Photo
  • Justification Letter (if you choose Parent 1 or Parent 2 or Legal Guardian).

During the e-Visa application, birth certificates and other necessary documents can be easily uploaded through the online portal.
