Transfer from Francisco de Orellana airport in Coca to the dock to sail down Napo River until arriving at the M/V Anakonda Amazon Cruise, your home for the next 5 days. This magnificent vessel counts with a wide observation deck, where you can appreciate the landscapes of the Amazon at different times of the day.

Your first tour takes places in the evening, when your guide will take you for a walk to explore the alluring rainforest during nighttime, with chances of spotting caimans, owls. Gaze at the stars and see the beautiful Southern hemisphere constellations from a clear sky, away from the contamination of the cities.

This morning, disembark M/V Anakonda to take a walk that will give you an insight into the characteristics of this unique ecosystem, where an estimated of 8 out of 10 species known by man can be found.

After lunch, arrive in Yasuní, where you will take a canoe-ride. Shared by Peru and Ecuador, this national park is home to exotic animals such as pink river dolphins, black caimans, river turtles, and even the world-famous anacondas, the largest snakes in the world. Another of the highlights its the hoatzin, locally known as ‘stinky turkey,’ an animal crucial to understand the evolution of birds due to its distinctive feature: the claws located on its wings, used to defend itself from predators.

After breakfast, head to the banks of the river to visit a local school, where you will have the chance to interact with the children and learn about the life and the school system in this remote area.

Board the cruise again to continue navigating upstream. In the meantime, enjoy a lecture and a documentary to get more information about the astonishing nature that surrounds you. There are also chances of learning how to make your own handicraft, using the techniques and elements of the Amazonian people.

This morning you will get a privileged view of the Ecuadorian Amazon from an observation tower. Its 100-feet location built on a giant kapok tree will allow you to get the perspective monkeys and birds have of this region, taking in evergreen forests, and listening to the sounds of the nature.

In the afternoon, visit Limoncocha Biological Reserve, a fascinating protected area where more than 478 bird species and several monkey species have been recorded. This activity will extend into the evening, when you have a chance to spot black caiman with the help of your flashlights. Return to the M/V Anakonda for dinner.

Fill your lungs with pure Amazonian air before returning to Coca, where a representative will take you to Francisco de Orellana airport to fly back to the Ecuadorian capital.
