** Note for Travelers from New Zealand, South Africa, and other Latin American countries

Travelers from New Zealand, South Africa, and many other Latin American countries DO NOT REQUIRE A VISA to enter Uruguay. However, it is still very important you check with your local consulate or embassy for the most up-to-date visa & passport requirements.

Passport Requirements:

Citizens of ALL countries: To enter Uruguay, your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your travel dates. For example, if you are traveling to Uruguay in March, your passport must be valid through September of that year.

We strongly recommend making copies of your passport. Keep your original passport locked away in the safe of your hotel and carry a photocopy of your passport with you during your travels. You might also consider purchasing a passport holder to keep all your documents safe.

Visa Requirements:

Citizens of the United States, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Israel, South Africa, most of Europe and Scandinavia DO NOT REQUIRE a tourist visa to enter Uruguay.

They can stay in Uruguay for up to 90-days visa-free.

For the most up-to-date information regarding visa requirements for Uruguay, please visit Project VisaVisaHQ, or check with the nearest Uruguayan consulate in your area.

Vaccination Recommendations:

We highly recommend visiting the World Health Organization website for the most up-to-date country-specific vaccination requirements.
