Top 7 Torres del Paine Tours

Torres del Paine, Chile, or the “Paine Towers,” is the iconic image of Chilean Patagonia. The Torres del Paine granite peaks and surrounding Magellanic forests can be seen in a day excursion from Puerto Natales. But to do this stunning national park justice, plan to stay inside of the park for at least a few days. On Torres del Paine tours, you may spot Andean Condors, Magellanic Horned Owls, Chilean Flamingoes, South American gray foxes, South Andean deer and much more. Breathe fresh air and go sightseeing along the Serrano River, the Grey Glacier, the lagoons of Lago Pehoe, Lago Nordenskjöld and Lago Sarmiento. Torres del Paine hiking is among the best in the world. Enjoy scenic walks or rigorous hikes, all with breathtaking scenery.

Marvel at the Most Impressive Peaks in Chilean Patagonia

We recommend that you spend at least a few days exploring the Torres del Paine National Park. The best way to explore it is by staying at a hotel or camp inside the national park, rather than transferring to and from the nearby cities of Puerto Natales or Punta Arenas. Once you’re inside the park, most likely you won’t want to leave. There is so much to see and soak in! There are several different options for lodging while on our Torres del Paine Tours, such as the luxurious Hotel Las Torres or Patagonia Eco-Camp. Here you can enjoy all meals, guided tours, free time for hiking on your own, horseback riding, and other amenities to make your stay in Patagonia unforgettable.

Torres del Paine is at the crossroad, so to speak, between the lake district in northern Patagonia and the extreme southern tip of Tierra del Fuego. So some Patagonia cruises will stop near Torres del Paine National Park and include a transfer to the park, en route between Punta Arenas and Puerto Montt. Torres del Paine is also accessible from Puerto Natales and El Calafate by road.

Torres del Paine Travel FAQ’s

Thinking about a Torres del Paine trip? Here’s a list of frequently asked questions we often hear from our guests.

How much does it cost to enter Torres del Paine?

In 2020, entrance to Torres del Paine National Park costs about US$30 for foreign tourists. This is included in the price of stays at lodges within the park. Day tours to Torres del Paine from Puerto Natales that we arrange also include the park entrance fee.

Can you do day hikes in Torres del Paine?

Yes and this is an excellent way to explore the national park. There are many options for day hikes ranging in length and difficulty. Some of the most famous hikes include the hike to the base of the towers which gives spectacular views of the most famous part of the part and the hike to French Valley where you’ll pass hanging glaciers and obtain views of a myriad of peaks.

Where should I stay when visiting Torres del Paine?

The best experience is gained from staying in a lodge within the park itself. This means you don’t have to travel in and out each day and are right amidst the best scenery. The downside is that the lodges in the park are quite expensive, though usually include all meals and excursions, plus transfers in and out.

When is the best time to visit Torres del Paine?

In our opinion, the best time to visit Torres del Paine is in late September to October and March to April. These are the shoulder seasons when there are fewer visitors than in summer months, but also the chances of good weather are reasonable. It is possible to visit Torres del Paine at any time of year. In winter (May to August) most lodges in the park are closed, but you can stay in the nearby town of Puerto Natales and make day trips into the park.
