Argentina Scuba Diving Off Coast of Valdes Peninsula
One of our clients went scuba diving off the coast of the Valdes Peninsula, near Puerto Madryn in the Patagonia region of Argentina. They got up close and personal with friendly sea lions, including some sea lions who even nipped at their hair in curiosity, perhaps thinking it was seaweed! Although not many people think of Argentina’s coast as a great place for snorkeling or scuba diving, in fact, Puerto Madryn and the Valdes Peninsula is one of the best spots for diving in South America. There are coral reefs, a protected bay, relatively warm waters, and lots of shipwrecks that have brought interested divers and snorkelers to its shores. In the Valdes Peninsula, you can see southern right whales, orcas, Magellanic penguins, sea lions, elephant seals, fur seals, and a wide variety of marine birds. It has even been named a UNESCO World Heritage site, which shows how the region has received international attention for its amazing biodiversity and wildlife worth appreciating. If you’re interested in Argentina scuba diving, or even if you don’t want to “get your feet wet” and just want to see the amazing amount of wildlife on a guided tour, our travel consultants can arrange a personalized trip to Argentina’s Valdes Peninsula for you.
