Rio Carnival 2014

Feb 28- March 4 2014, Winner’s Parade on March 8

Rio Carnival Brazil Carnaval

Rio Carnival, the world’s largest Carnival celebration by far, is just around the corner. For the last weeks of February and the first weeks of March 2014, Rio de Janeiro will be filled to the brim with revelers and samba dancers. Hotels will be booked far in advance, and often hotels will require 3-5 night minimum stays during Carnival season. So if you want a Brazil tour during Carnival 2014, you’ll need to start making your arrangements now. If you want to experience the sights and sounds of Rio Carnival 2014, we recommend touring around Brazil on our Tango, Samba, & Waterfalls tour, and ending in Rio de Janeiro for the Winner’s Parade. This is the culminating samba show where all the best samba schools perform at the end of the Carnival week. It is usually much calmer in the city, and the prices are more reasonable. So you can witness the colorful and lively Carnival celebrations but avoid the rowdiness of the prior weeks of Carnival. Plus, you can see the Iguassu Falls, the Atlantic Rainforest, Sao Paulo, and Buenos Aires on our comprehensive tour package. This tour departs on March 2nd, 2014, and finishes on March 11, 2014. View the full Tango, Samba, & Waterfalls tour here – and contact us to add Rio Carnival! Read also: The Insider’s Guide to Rio Carnival

Brazil FIFA World Cup 2014

June 12-July 13, 2014 Brazil Soccer 2014 Football Rio FIFA World Cup

Football fans are eager to visit Brazil in 2014 for the FIFA World Cup, which will be held from June 12-July 13 in various parts of Brazil. But hotels and other accommodations during this time are already getting booked, so if you are interested in traveling to Brazil for the World Cup, you should arrange your vacation soon. We recommend visiting Brazil after the World Cup fever has blown over when the prices will be much more reasonable and cities won’t be as crowded. Plus, public transportation and infrastructure are rapidly being constructed in order to prepare for the influx of people during the World Cup, so afterward the football frenzy, public transportation should be more efficient. If you travel during the off-season from August-October in Brazil, you’re sure to enjoy mild temperatures, breathtaking landscapes, deserted beaches, and many more of the highlights that make Brazil such a wonderful country to visit. During Oktoberfest, the city of Blumenau tucked away in the Atlantic Rainforest of southern Brazil, holds a lively Oktoberfest – the largest Oktoberfest outside of Munich! Read below for more details on the Oktoberfest Brazil tour 2014. Brazil Oktoberfest Tour in Blumenau

October 8th to 26th, 2014 Oktoberfest Blumenau Brazil

During the month of October, the city of Blumenau tucked away in the Atlantic Rainforest of southern Brazil, holds a lively Oktoberfest – the largest Oktoberfest outside of Munich! An influx of German immigrants moved to Blumenau and other parts of Brazil, bringing with them their culture, traditions, language, and love for beer. It’s common to see blondes in southern Brazil, often speaking Portuguese with a German accent. For Oktoberfest, residents of Blumenau brew their own beer, and pretzels, cakes, and other Bavarian goodies. Often, musicians from Munich will fly to Blumenau, Brazil, immediately after the Munich Oktoberfest is over, so that those in Brazil can join in on all the best Bavarian music and dancing. While on our Tango, Samba, & Waterfalls tour, you can stop in Blumenau to join in the music, dancing, and delicious food. Also see the Iguassu Falls, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Petropolis, and Rio de Janeiro. Check out our Oktoberfest Brazil tour and book for 2014 now! Read also: Beer & Brautwurst in Blumenau, Brazil

Brazil New Year’s in Rio de Janeiro 2015

December 31st, 2014, to January 1st, 2015

Rio New Years Beach Brazil

Have you ever wanted to sip a caipirinha cocktail while standing on the warm beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema in Rio de Janeiro, celebrating with nearly 2 million others as the New Year begins? Celebrate New Year’s in Rio de Janeiro, where fireworks, warm beaches, friendly faces, musical concerts, and dancing create an unforgettable way to ring in the New Year. Musicians as famous as Daniela Mercury and Alcione perform each year on Ipanema Beach after the fireworks show over Copacabana Beach. There are also several after-parties held in Ipanema, Copacabana, Flamengo, and Barra da Tijuca. One tip for celebrating Réveillon, or New Year’s in Portuguese, with the cariocas (locals): wear all white clothing, which is said to bring good luck. Another tip is to spend time on the beach on New Year’s day after the festivities have calmed down. Enjoy some lentil soup on your first day of the new year, enjoying Brazil’s delicious cuisine and summer weather. We can organize a 10-day Brazil tour that includes Buenos Aires, Iguassu Falls, the Atlantic Rainforest & New Year’s during Rio de Janeiro, for any year. Since New Year’s is one of the busiest times in Brazil (second only to Carnival), it is advisable to book your hotels and vacation plans well in advance.
