A rookie mistake when traveling South America is to underestimate and bypass the mighty Iguazu Falls. With all the wonders South America has to offer, it’s hard to believe that the 275 waterfalls that make up the attraction are going to have the jaw-dropping effect that they do. But Iguassu Falls Tours is one of the indisputable highlights of South America. The Iguassu Falls are an amazing sight in part because you can get up close to the natural spectacle. At the top of the falls, a platform leads viewers to stand directly above the intense turbulence of the Devil’s Throat (Garganta del Diablo). This is where the velocity of the Iguazu River below their feet comes to a dramatic dropoff, crashing into an abyss of mist. Iguazu Falls trip also offers the unique experience of a safari adventure to the bottom of the falls, venturing up the river on a boat to come face-to-face with the fierce marvel. Not only is it the close-up viewpoints that make Iguazu FallsΒ special, but the falls have the added bonus of being located in a subtropical forest. On the Argentine and Brazilian sides, there are vast national parks that beckon the traveler to explore. The lush green plant life that fills the landscape and wide range of birds circling the skies is another reason why this place should be on every traveler’s radar. Besides walking trails, opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife spotting, there are plenty of adventure tours to choose from. With quick flights from the international hubs of Buenos Aires, SΓ£o Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro, getting toΒ Iguazu Falls is easy!Β These days, LAN offers direct flights from Lima to Foz do Iguassu, making it an accessible stop to combine with Machu Picchu as well. You can add an Iguassu Falls trip to any Brazil tour, Argentina tour, or Peru tour.

It is recommended to spend at least a day and a half exploring the Argentine and Brazilian side of the park, but the area also boasts additional attractions such as the Jesuit Missions Ruins and an incredible bird park on the Brazil side for those who would like to stay an extra day.

Don’t make the novice error of thinking Iguazu Falls is β€œjust another waterfall” and make sure to ask your SouthAmerica.travel representative about our Iguazu Falls Tours!Β
