Visa information
Information on this page is provided as a courtesy and should be verified by the passenger before travel
Visas are not required for travel to Argentina for North Americans for stays of less than 3 months. However, as of December 28, 2009, a Reciprocity Tax will be collected upon arrival in Argentina (payment in pesos, US Dollars, Credit Card or Traveler's Check). Fee will be collected at any point of entry.
According to the Consulate of Argentina:
Entry Request Fee
When entering Argentine Territory, the national of the following countries must pay a "reciprocity fee" in accordance with the following chart (*)
The payment of this "reciprocity fee" IS NOT a Visa since Argentina does not require visa to nationals of the mentioned countries when traveling for tourism or business purposes.
The Argentine Governament set this entry fee on equal amounts to those Argentine citizens must pay when requesting a Visa to travel to those countries.
NOTE: At time of writing (1.1.2010) fees are only being collected at Buenos Aires Int'l Airport (Ezeiza), with other entry points to come online in the future.
