Day 1

There are two ways to reach Puerto Williams. One of them is taking a flight from Punta Arenas, Chile, for about 1.20 hrs. The other one is by the Beagle Channel, navigating from Ushuaia, Argentina to Navarino Port (for about 30 minutes). From the port, take a 1.15-hour ride to Puerto Williams. Once at Lakutaia, catch a flight for a half-day excursion to Cape Horn, located in Horno Island. Take in the impressive views of the snow-capped Dientes de Navarino Massif, the Nassau Bay, the Wollast Island, and the Drake Passage. This area is the southernmost part of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, and is only 500 km (310 mi) from the Antarctic Peninsula.
Head to the northeast tip of the island to visit the lighthouse and the house where the guardian and his family live. Also, contemplate the famous Cape Horn monument, representing a huge Albatross silhouette: southern wind icon and courageous sailors? eternal companion.
Return to Lakutaia Lodge to enjoy a welcome drink and a lunch.
In the afternoon, visit Omora Ethnobotanical Park. This area sponsored by Omora Foundation is a biocultural reserve that protects the Antarctic forests with its flora and fauna, and also the cultural element of the local community and the Yagan community of Puerto Williams.
Return to the Lodge. Dinner and accommodation at Lakutaia Lodge.
After dinner, your lead guide will lecture about the fascinating history of the Cape Horn region.

Darwin's Trail

Day 2

After breakfast, sail the Wulaia Bay following Darwin's Trail. This excursion is a highlight for those who want to admire southern Patagonian landscapes and also those interested in anthropology and science, since Wulaia was the place where Charles Darwin and Commander Fitz Roy met the local communities and is considered the historical capital of Tierra del Fuego Island. Listen to your guide as they share with you the controversial history that took place in this land and the impact it has had in society and science.
The views this trail will reward you with include the Beagle Channel, the charming Ushuaia city, Button Island coastal beaches, and the narrow Murray Channel, dividing Hoste d and Navarino Islands. If you are lucky, you might see a wide number of pelagic birds, seal colonies, dolphins and penguins.
Return to Lakutaia Lodge and have dinner.

Climb the hill and take in the fascinating panoramic views of the Ukika and Robalo Valleys, Ushuaia and Puerto Williams on the two borders of the Beagle Channel.
This excursion includes box lunch, hot & cold beverages.
