Overall a very good trip. Our airport transfers arrived promptly everywhere.
Buenos Aires - The Loi Suites is a nice clean hotel. good service. The tango and dinner show was excellent. The pick up for the dinner did not arrive, but we were able to contact the emergency number and get an immediate response. we were asked to take a cab and were reimbursed for the amount the next day.
Iguazu - Our flight from Buenos Aires to Iguazu was delayed by 4 hours. Again we called the emergency no. to inform them that our arrival into Iguazu would be delayed. Our driver and Guide picked us up at the airport to take us to the national park and see the falls. we were rushed for time but saw the two upper trails. The guide Enrique did an excellent ob of making sure we saw the most of the falls in the short time we had. Suggestion- day of arrival into Iguazu should be different from the day for the trip to see the falls. The trip to the Jesuit ruins and Wanda mine were interesting. Our driver Miguel was knowledgeable and ready to answer questions about the region. The hotel in Iguazu was sub par in term of service, food and cleanliness. However we did find an excellent restaurant called Aqva in the town.
Salta - Tony was our driver and guide four our stay in Salta. He was knowledgeable and patient and took extra effort to show us around. The Lerma hotel was very conveniently located near the main street that had a row of restaurants. Clean and good service.
Our day trips to Cafayette, Jujuy, Salinas Grandes, and Cachi were very interesting and scenic. We were able to see a lot of the indigenous animals along the way. Some of the day trips could have been arranged with overnight stays such as in Jujuy. instead of driving back to Salta, which made it long. Our visit to the Los Cordonnes National park was excellent. Our guide took us to the part called Valle Encantado which was superb. Saw Chinchillas and rock paintings that our guide pointed out to us. The Sala de Payogasta was a good restaurant in Cachi for lunch.
