Top 8 Argentina Cruises

The best cruises in Argentina include the journey from Ushuaia at the southern tip of the country into Chile, rounding the most southerly point of South America – Cape Horn and exploring Patagonian fjords along the way. These cruises take five days and are a real highlight of South America.

There are day cruises from El Calafate to see the Upsala and other Patagonian Glaciers. On the Glaciers Gourmet Cruise, enjoy spectacular views while dining in comfort.

From Ushuaia, for the most intrepid traveler, there are cruises to Antarctica. It takes a couple of days to cross the Drake Passage and arrive at the White Continent which is explored for a few days before returning to Argentina.

Some longer cruises of South America include a few stops in Argentina. If taking a South American cruise, we can add pre or post cruise extensions to your trip, for example a stay in Buenos Aires and at the Iguazu Falls.

Relax with the comfort of a luxury cruise ship, and enjoy some excursions to visit national parks and coastal communities. Once you land in port, we can offer city tours and other travel arrangements in Argentina.

Besides Buenos Aires, popular port stops on Argentina cruises include Puerto Madryn and its Peninsula de Valdés, as well as Ushuaia, near the southernmost tip of Tierra del Fuego. View more information about our Argentina Patagonia cruises in the section below.

FAQ’s about Argentina Cruises

Thinking about an Argentina Patagonia cruise? Here’s a list of frequently asked questions we often hear from our guests.

Can you take a cruise to Antarctica?

Yes you can. From Ushuaia in the south of Argentina, cruises cross the Drake Passage to reach Antarctica. Typically these cruises are a week to ten days long. If you’d rather not spend several days at sea, it is possible to fly to Antarctica from Punta Arenas in Chile and then take a cruise around the Antarctic Peninsula.

What can you see on a cruise of Argentina?

This depends on the cruise you choose, but typically Argentina cruises focus on the landscapes and beauty of Patagonia. This means you may see glaciers, penguins, rich birdlife and possibly whales. Rounding Cape Horn on a cruise that combines Argentina and Chile is something particularly special.

What should I pack for an Argentina cruise?

Yes you can. From Ushuaia in the south of Argentina, cruises cross the Drake Passage to reach Antarctica. Typically these cruises are a week to ten days long. If you’d rather not spend several days at sea, it is possible to fly to Antarctica from Punta Arenas in Chile and then take a cruise around the Antarctic Peninsula.

Where is the cruise port in Buenos Aires Argentina?

There are a few different ports in Buenos Aires, so check where your cruise starts or ends carefully (if booking a cruise with us, we’ll take care of this for you). Puerto Buenos Aires and Puerto Nuevo are the main ports. There is also a terminal for ferries to Colonia and Montevideo in Uruguay. All of these are reasonably central.
