Day 1 ARRIVAL IN MANAUS

Transfer from your hotel in Manaus to Amazon Clipper Cruise at 2.00 pm. As you board, enjoy your welcome drink as your guides tell you about the journey you are about to set off on.

After a snack, meet at the leisure room to receive a talk on the basic aspects of the unique and vast Amazon ecosystem and how to preserve it.

During the evening, you can order a delicious sweet and lemony caipirinha, Brazil’s national drink.

After dinner, while the vessel keeps navigating up the Amazon River, you will go on a night safari to discover nocturnal fauna. Here, using searchlights, you may spot: caimans (a crocodile species), sloths, frogs, snakes, and night-hawks.

Day 2 AMAZONIAN BIRDS & RIVER DOLPHINS

Wake up early and hop in a canoe to explore Janauaca Lake and the waking forest. Keep your eyes open for exotic birds and Pink River Dolphins. After breakfast, visit the inhabitants of the lake who rely on the plantations, fish and fruit as well as rubber and Brazil-nut trees. Try your hand at piranha fishing in the afternoon and try to spot a large flock of egrets. After dinner, explore the forest by canoe for the chance to observe nocturnal animals and gaze upon the millions of stars and constellations of the southern hemisphere.

Day 3 MEETING OF THE WATERS & MANAUS

Enter the Januari Ecological Park in search of Victoria Regias, one of the biggest aquatic plants in the world. These giant water lilies have a star-shaped flower that blossoms during the night. Explore the mysterious flooded forest by canoe, or stroll along a catwalk, observing wildlife in the trees and water. Enjoy breakfast while the boat begins navigation towards the Meeting of the Waters. Upon return to the port of Manaus, take in views of the floating docks and the dome of the Opera House.

Day 1ARRIVAL IN MANAUS

Depart onto the Rio Negro and enjoy a snack and some fresh fruit juice as the boat heads upstream and the guides begin a lecture on Amazon preservation and ecology.

After dinner, take a canoe to explore hidden creeks and waterways for the chance to spot a caiman or a rare bird, and be sure to listen for the sounds of all the nocturnal animals just beginning their day.

Day 2ANAVILHANAS NATIONAL PARK

Set out early in a canoe to explore surrounding waters and look for fruit eating birds such as the parrot and toucan. After breakfast, take a jungle walk to discover many surprising fragrances in leaves and fruits of the nearby woods. Take a swim just before lunch and then prepare for Anavilhanas National Park, one of the world’s largest fresh water archipelagos. Retake to the canoe in the late afternoon to explore the labyrinth of waterways in this wondrous nature park.

Day 3 AMAZONIAN CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

Wake up early and spend some time fishing for endemic fish, such as the famous piranhas. After breakfast, visit an indigenous community, learn about their culture and view the plantations that make up a huge part of the income the community makes. After lunch head to a white, sandy beach to unwind and swim in the dark water. Explore by canoe and search for exotic wildlife in the afternoon. Lastly, dinner is served as you sail towards the Amazon River.

Day 4JANAUARI ECOLOGICAL PARK & MANAUS

Wake up to explore the Lago January Ecological Park. This is a prime location to observe wildlife and attempt to locate the majestic Victoria Regia. Enjoy breakfast as the vessel navigates to the Meeting of the Waters, the confluence of the light-colored Amazon River and the dark colored Negro River. Day 1ARRIVAL IN MANAUS

Depart towards the Amazon River. Board the Amazon Clipper Cruise and enjoy a welcome drink as your guide gives you basic information about Amazon rainforest and the flora and fauna that will surround you. Take in the verdant landscape as the vessel sails up the Amazon River.

After dinner, try to spot a caiman, night-hawk, sloth or perhaps some rare snakes and frogs with the help of your guide and searchlights.

Day 2PIRANHA FISHING & FAUNA EXPLORATION

Wake up early and hop in the canoe to explore Janauaca Lake, followed by a walk in the forest. Keep your eyes open for exotic birds and Pink River Dolphins. Return to the vessel to have breakfast before visiting the inhabitants of the lake who rely on the plantations, fishing as well as fruit, rubber and Brazil-nut trees.

Try your hand at piranha fishing in the afternoon and try to spot a large flock of egrets and Hoatzins. After dinner, explore the forest by canoe for the chance to observe nocturnal animals and gaze upon the millions of stars and constellations of the southern hemisphere.

Day 3MEETING OF THE WATERS

Make the most of the final day of this fabulous tour of the Amazon by looking for the Victoria Regia, a giant water lily in the January Ecological Park. Board a canoe to explore the mysterious flooded forest, locally known as ‘Igapó’.

As you reach the city of Manaus, you will see the convergence of the Amazon and the Negro Rivers. The sand-color waters of the first one and the dark waters of the second one run side by side without merging, causing a phenomenon known as ‘the Meeting of the Waters.’ Pass the port of Manaus where you can admire the floating docks and the dome of the Opera House.

After lunch, head to the leisure room to learn about this fascinating ecosystem. After dinner, explore the forest in your canoes and listen to the chorus of birds and frogs with the possibility of observing nocturnal animals.

Day 4ANAVILHANAS NATIONAL PARK

Set out early in a canoe to explore surrounding waters and look for fruit-eating birds such as the parrot and toucan. Learn about the health and education situation of the children and the ancestral knowledge the inhabitants have of the rainforests. After lunch land on a white, sandy beach to swim in the dark water, and in the afternoon explore by canoe and search for exotic wildlife.

As you have dinner, your vessel will follow its course through the Amazon River.

Day 6RETURN TO MANAUS

Wake up to explore the Lago January Ecological Park. This is a prime location to observe wildlife and attempt to locate the Victoria Regia, or giant water lilies whose beautiful white star-shaped flowers blossom in the night. Enjoy breakfast as you navigate to the Meeting of the Waters to make your way back to Manaus. Lastly, it’s time to return to where your journey began, but there’s one last chance to enjoy the fine views of the Manaus waterfront.
