While landing at Iguazú International Airport, catch sight of the magnificent Iguazú Falls and the surrounding natural park covering parts of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Your expert bilingual guide will escort you to the fabulous 5-star Bourbon Iguassu Golf Club & Resort on the Brazilian side of the falls. Check in and relax by the pool or head straight for the greens. The 18-hole course is a par 72, a golfer’s dream, extending for some 6kms. In the evening, feast on a Brazilian dinner and enjoy your first night in Brazil.
This morning, hit the course and get ready for your first South America golfing experience. Enjoy the fresh air and play a round of golf on the famous Bourbon Iguassu Golf Club and Resort course. Located where the borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay meet, tee off in one country and get a hole-in-one in another.
Day 3: After a Brazilian breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to São Paulo. Once you arrive in São Paulo, transfer to your hotel and relax for the remainder of the day.
Day 4: Play at one of the best golf courses in the region, the São Paulo Guarapiranga Golf and Country Club. The course is relatively flat with many straight fairways surrounded by old native trees. Several water obstacles offer a unique challenge on the 18-hole, par 70 course. After a day of solid practice, acquire knowledge of a more cultural activity. Visit the Brazilian Samba School and meet the students as they prepare to perform at Carnival in a few days time. Learn about samba techniques and rhythms and perhaps even get the chance to brush up on some moves.
Day 5: Enjoy a Brazilian breakfast and then spend the day golfing at Club Vista Verde, a lovely site surrounded by mountains. With fantastic scenery and a challenge at every hole, this 18-hole course helps every player improve their game.
Day 6: The nation shuts down as Carnival gets underway. Head to the Sambadrome in São Paulo to experience the sights and sounds of this colorful festival.
Day 7: After feeling the rhythm of Carnival in São Paulo, board a flight this morning to Salvador de Bahia. Check into your hotel and enjoy some spare time to simply relax.
Day 8: Spend a few hours fine-tuning your golf game at the Costa da Sauipe Golf Links. Stop for a break and admire the picturesque view overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Day 9: Prepare to shake your hips at carnival in Salvador de Bahia today, known as the largest street carnival in the world. Enjoy every minute of this cultural tradition, a vibrant mix of music, dance and theatrical spectacle.
Day 10: Spend the day at your leisure just relaxing, sunbathing or exploring Salvador on your own.
Day 11: Head to the fairways at Iberostar Praia do Forte Golf Club in Salvador do Bahia. This course is perfect for rookies as well as experienced tournament players. The view of the ocean and the surrounding palm trees are beautiful.
Day 12: This morning, fly to the bustling city of Rio de Janeiro. Check into your hotel and in the afternoon, follow the relaxed pace of the Cariocas as the locals call themselves, and head to the beach.
Day 13: Start the day by teeing off at the Itanhangá Golf Club in Rio de Janeiro. Warm up at the driving range and putting greens before starting on the 27-hole course (par 72), some 6.8kms in length. During summer, the nearby mountains offer shade and some respite from the heat for avid golfers.
In the afternoon, take a short city tour to see Rio from above. Ride the trenzinho (cogwheel railway) to the top of the Corcovado Mountain to see the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue from an elevated standpoint and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the city center.
Day 14: In the morning, take another city tour of Rio de Janeiro to experience a panoramic view from Sugarloaf Mountain. After boarding a cable car to reach the summit, drink in the sight of golden beaches, green forests and the thriving metropolis of Rio that has earned it the title of the “world’s most beautiful city”. Once back on the ground, delve into Rio’s rich history and learn how Portugal’s prince cut off all ties with the royal family and declared himself Emperor of Brazil. In the evening, head to the Sambadrome to get a glimpse into Rio’s cultural soul. Witness the Champion’s Parade when the top six Samba Schools in Rio perform and feel the magical atmosphere of this spectacular event that showcases some 3,000 dancers from each school.
After golfing in three different Brazilian cities and experiencing Carnival in São Paulo, Salvador da Bahia and Rio de Janeiro, fly home laden with memories.
