Arrive at the Cuiabá airport where your transfer will be waiting to take you to Pousada Rio Mutum Lodge. Along the way, you will pass by the small village of Mimoso, and you’ll see your first glimpses of the Pantanal Wetlands. Once you arrive at the lodge, you will enjoy a welcome reception where you will meet some of the other travelers staying at the Lodge. Relax for a few moments before heading to dinner. After dinner, meet the guides and learn about the different activities and excursions you can do in the Pantanal.

Today you will wake up early to enjoy a healthy breakfast before heading out for your first excursion. This morning you will be going horseback riding through the wetlands to the Siá Mariana Bay. Here you can observe a wide variety of birds, capybara, marsh deer and other reptiles. After spotting some wildlife, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will go on a photography safari boat ride down the pristine Mutum River. Here, it is possible to see giant otters, stingrays and huge schools of small fish. Return to the lodge in the early evening and relax until dinner. After dinner, you can go on a nocturnal Jeep adventure to spot some some of the nocturnal wildlife.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading out for an ecological walk through the Pantanal past open fields to observe wildlife. Undeniably, the Pantanal is one of the world’s best hot spots for birding. Return to the lodge and relax until your lunch. In the afternoon, sit back and relax as you take a boat ride down the Mutum River to Siá Mariana Bay and Chacororé Bay. During this time your guides will point out the different flora and fauna you are seeing. You may even have the opportunity to go piranha fishing. In the evening, take the fish you caught and feed them to the caiman. Enjoy dinner at the lodge and spend the rest of the night at your leisure.

Note: You can fish for piranhas from February to September. However, from October to January 31st, it is prohibited to fish in the Mato Grosso, because it is the breeding season for the fish.

For your final day in the Pantanal, you will wake up early to go canoeing and watch the sunrise and see the Pantanal come to life. Return to the lodge for breakfast and prepare for check out. Your transfer to the Cuiabá airport will arrive shortly after.

Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be greeted with a welcome reception where you can meet some of your fellow travelers. Get acquainted with the lodge before dinner. Enjoy a delicious dinner made of local ingredients and get to know the guides as they explain some of the exciting activities they have planned.

Wake up early and enjoy a healthy breakfast before departing on your guided ecological walk to spot birds and wildlife. The Pantanal is most famous for being one of the best spots in the world for birding. Return to the lodge and relax until lunch. In the afternoon you will go on a photography boat ride safari along the Mutum River. Along the way, you might see giant river otters, stingrays, enormous schools of small fish and more. Later, return to the lodge and lounge until dinner. Once the sun goes down, around 9:00 pm, you will set forth on a nocturnal animal spotting by jeep. Your guides will point out all the different animals you are seeing.

Today you wake up early for a canoeing adventure down the Mutum River. Along the journey you will watch the spectacular and colorful sunrise in the Pantanal, this is an optimal time to take some incredible photos. Return for breakfast, and then relax on a boat ride to Cuiabá Mirim, a small village of fisherman on the Cuiabá river banks. In the afternoon, take a Jeep ride to look for more birds and animals; during this excursion, you will likely spot many macaws. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Enjoy a spectacular dinner and reflect on your day in the Pantanal.

In the afternoon you will go on a boat ride down the Mutum River and stop to see the gorgeous Siá Mariana Bay and Chacororé Bay to look for wildlife. Along the journey, you will stop to watch the sunset at Siá Mariana Bay and if you are lucky you will be able to go piranha fishing. In the evening, stop by a caiman feeding where you will feed them the piranhas fished from Siá Mariana Bay. As you head back to the lodge, your guide will start pointing out the different nocturnal animals of the Pantanal. Return in time for dinner at 7:30 pm and spend the rest of the evening at your leisure.
