Amazon Rainforest Travel Seminar and Video

Updated: April 11, 2018 Watch this Amazon Rainforest Travel Seminar, an informative video filmed at the Savvy Traveler Bookstore in Edmonds, Washington, in April 2014. SouthAmerica.travel’s CEO & President, Jürgen Keller, spoke on the subject of traveling in the Amazon Rainforest, and there was time for Questions & Answers at the end of the session. Watch it now: Topics covered in this Amazon Rainforest Travel Seminar include the geography of the Amazon Rainforest, spanning the eastern basin of Peru, and a vast portion of Brazil, as well as parts of Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. Other topics include where to stay, such as what qualities to look for in an Amazon jungle lodge or cruise boat, and how to deal with mosquitoes. Jürgen shares his knowledge of South America, especially the Amazon Rainforest basin – he first visited the Brazilian Amazon in the late 1990s and has visited again and again over the years. The main focus of the talk is on the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest, especially Puerto Maldonado, as well as the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest near Manaus. The talk follows the flow of the Amazon River, starting in the Peruvian Andes and flowing east to Belem, on the Atlantic coast of Brazil. Learn about the different birds – macaws, hoatzins, Andean Cock-of-the-Rock – monkeys, pink river dolphins, and other wildlife that you might spot while exploring the Amazon Rainforest. If you enjoyed this Amazon Rainforest Travel Seminar, check out all our Amazon Trip Itineraries – we have dozens of sample itineraries, and you can always request personalized itineraries.
