Upon arrival at Punta Arenas airport, transfer to Puerto Natales, the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park.
Leave Puerto Natales to visit the renowned Torres del Paine National Park. People are drawn to Torres del Paine from all around the world due to its picture-perfect landscapes, including the Paine Horns, Paine Towers, Amarga Lagoon, Salto Grande Falls, and Grey Lake. On route, stop at the Milodon Cave, one of Chile’s national monuments which consist of a series of caves located on top of a cliff, one of them containing the remains of a pre-historic sloth called milodón.
In the late afternoon, return to Puerto Natales.
Today, sail Balmaceda Lake to see the Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers, located in the biggest national park in Chile: Bernardo O’Higgins, named after one of the independence heroes of the country. Spot a colony of sea lions resting on the rocky coastline while boarding the boat. These friendly animals of brown fur are commonly found in South America.
On this journey, make stops at the Guanaco Island and the Last Hope Sound. Learn about the fascinating history of the sailor Juan Ladrillero, who explored the waters looking for the Straight of Magellan. Then arrive in Bernardo O’Higgins National Park, where the incredible Balmaceda Glacier rests. Continue to the northern part of Balmaceda Mount and take in the pristine Serrano Glacier. Depart the boat for a walk in the forest full of native trees and unique flora and fauna. After some rest, continue hiking towards the foot of the Serrano Glacier and enjoy a local lunch.
In the evening, transfer to the hotel in Puerto Natales.
After breakfast, hit the road through southern Patagonia, from Chile into Argentina. El Calafate is the starting point for trekkers and those who want to see the Perito Moreno Glacier, the world’s largest advancing glacier. Check in at your hotel and relax for the night.
Start the day with breakfast in the hotel, and then join a group for a full day tour to the Perito Moreno Glaicer. The scenic drive through the Los Glaciares National Park passes through beautiful forests and lakes, and allows you to see the glacier from multiple angles. Then get up close and explore the glacier along the Rico branch of Lago Argentino. This glacier is famous for its chunks of ice breaking off and crashing into the lake. Once the ice makes contact with the lake, the warmer temperature of the water triggers a process called calving, which results in the dramatic breaking off of ice. You can also walk around the marked walkways to view the glacier. Return to El Calafate in the late afternoon.
Transfer to the airport and fly to Buenos Aires. A guide will greet you at the airport and take you to your selected hotel.
Today, enjoy a 4-hour city tour of Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina and the so-called capital of Tango. Buenos Aires Tours are the perfect way to fall in love with Buenos Aires’s distinctive neighborhoods. Learn about its fascinating history and culture, and see its European-style architecture. Visit the Obelisk, located on the 9 de Julio Ave (the widest street in the world), as well as the Colon Theater, the Embassy of France, the Plaza de Mayo, the Plaza San Martín, and the financial district.
In the evening, enjoy a Tango Show and dinner. In Bueno Aires, porteños (the local people) love to dance, eat dinner and drink wine late into the night – and that is exactly what you’ll experience during a Tango Show! Be serenaded by professional musicians and dancers while enjoying a traditional Argentine meal and wine. After the show, transfer back to the hotel.
After breakfast, transfer from your hotel to the Buenos Aires International Airport (EZE) for your flight home or to your next destination in South America.
