Highlights |
While approaching Iguazú International Airport, catch sight of the magnificent Iguazú Falls and the surrounding natural park of Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. Your expert bilingual guide will escort you to the fabulous 5 Star Bourbon Iguassu Golf Club & Resort on the Brazilian side of the falls. Check in and take advantage of its superb facilities. Swim a few laps in the pool or head straight for the greens. The 18-hole course (par 72) is a golfer’s dream, extending for some 6kms. After watching the sunset, feast on a Brazilian dinner and enjoy your first evening in Brazil.
Experience the mighty falls from both the Brazilian and Argentine sides on a full-day excursion today. Cross into Argentina to view the falls from above. The breadth of the Niagara Falls pales in comparison to the Iguazú Falls, and it’s easy to see why from this spectacular overview. Next, head to the Brazilian side and walk along an elevated platform to view the awe-inspiring garganta do diabo (Devil’s Throat). Capture the fierce beauty of the torrents with some snapshots and feel the mist of the water.
Alternatively, opt for the Macuco Safari and board a boat to cruise underneath the falls, a novel way to view this majestic natural wonder.
Play a few rounds of golf on the famous Bourbon Iguassu Golf Club and Resort course on the final day in Iguazú. Located at the intersection of the borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, tee off in one country and get a hole-in-one in another.
It’s time to meet the vibrant and colorful capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires. Check into your hotel and head out to explore the “Paris of South America”. Visit the San Telmo Antique Market and browse the handicrafts to buy a gift for a loved one or find a bargain on a special souvenir. When night draws near, Buenos Aires comes out to play. Sample some mouth-watering Argentine steak at dinner and be entranced by a tango performance, the country’s most famous dance.
Note: The dinner and tango dance show are included and a vegetarian option is available.
See all the sights of the city on a guided tour. Visit the Casa Rosada and imagine Evita Perón pleading “Don’t cry for me Argentina”. Continue onto the historically significant Plaza de Mayo and in the evening, meander down to Puerto Madero, the newly-reformed port. Select from an array of restaurants to relish some local cuisine and sip on a glass of Malbec.
Pack the best clubs and hit the golf course. Take the chance to head to the Argentine countryside and enjoy a few rounds at the Pilar Golf Club which boasts an 18-hole, par 72 course. The greens extend for around 6.5kms, and it’s known as one of South America’s premier golf courses. See expansive lakes, forests and wetlands in the area and try to avoid the bunkers and the rough.
Enjoy the challenge of another course at the Buenos Aires Golf Club. It’s rated as one of the top golf courses in Latin America and the best in Argentina. In 2000, Tiger Woods and David Dual played here during the EMC Golf World Cup. Stretching to almost 6.5kms long, watch out for water hazards and bunkers while admiring the landscape. Select from three different 9-hole courses to practice on and aim for par.
Founded in 1880, the Jockey Club Red Golf Course is steeped in tradition. The course was designed by famous British golf course architect Alister MacKenzie, and the World Cup, the European Tour and Argentine Open have been hosted here. Follow the footsteps of the greats such as Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Sergio Garcia who have all graced its fairways, and contribute to the history of this 36-hole course.
Break out the best 9-iron at the San Andres Golf Club. The first official golf match here was played in 1894 and it has been the host of the Argentine Golf Open a record 21 times. Players relish the challenge of its 18-hole course spanning almost 6kms. Take a firm grip and aim to beat the average score of par 72 for the men and par 73 for the ladies.
Board a ferry and cruise for an hour along the Rio de la Plata to Colonia del Sacramento. This historic and quaint city in Uruguay is the perfect day trip destination from Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, check in at the Sheraton Colonia Golf & Spa Resort.
Enjoy a free day to spend at leisure. Relax at the spa, enjoy a stroll at the resort or continue perfecting your swing.
Today, head to beautiful Punta del Este. A holiday paradise that lies at the estuary of the Rio de la Plata, it’s surrounded by 40kms of beaches. Check into the famous “Club del Lago”, a deluxe 5-star hotel. Sunbathe, take a dip at one of the many beaches or go into town to visit one of Punta del Este’s many boutique stores.
The classic Cantegril Golf Club in Punta del Este spans almost 6kms and will test even the most seasoned golfers. Competitive players can take up the challenge and show off their technical skills. Par is 71 for men and 73 for ladies, so after working up a sweat, have a drink with friends at the clubhouse, set amongst the bunkers and trees.
Take it easy on the final day of the tour and try one last golf course in the area. Located between the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and the Sauce Lagoon, Club del Lago Golf Course is also known as the “Augusta of South America”. Surrounded by native trees and a lagoon, the course offers diverse landscapes that create a variety of challenges. Stroll along the fairways and greens that extend for almost 6.5kms, and try for below par (75 for men and 75 for ladies).
After a wonderful final day improving your game, depart for home or continue onward to another South American destination in the evening.
