Brazil Flights

Flight Information

Buying Flights to Brazil

Sao Paulo’s Guarulhos airport is the best-served airport for international flights in the whole of South America. Apart from Christmas and New Year, there isn’t an obvious peak time for airfares. Even for carnival, if you plan ahead you can get good prices.

International Flights

Brazil has many international airports and depending on your itinerary it may well make sense to fly into one and out of another. As Brazil’s business center – Sao Paulo’s airport has flights to most corners of the world. Rio de Janeiro is also well served and is the first choice for many travelers.

Flights from the United States to Brazil

Latam and American Airlines have flights from Miami to Sao Paulo. Delta, United, and American fly from New York airports to Sao Paulo. Houston, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Boston, and Washington DC all have flights to Sao Paulo too. From Sao Paulo, it is a short hop onwards to Rio de Janeiro.

To Rio de Janeiro, there are direct flights from U.S. cities such as Atlanta, Miami, and Houston.

Other Brazilian cities with direct flights to the USA include Brasilia, Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza and Manaus (very useful for Amazon adventures!).

Flights from Canada to Brazil

Air Canada flies direct from Toronto to Sao Paulo. You can connect in Sao Paulo to onwards destinations in Brazil, or fly through the USA in Rio de Janeiro or elsewhere.

Domestic flights in Brazil

The main airlines are Gol, Azul, and Latam. They have a very comprehensive network. Don’t underestimate the size of Brazil – it is important to carefully plan your trip or you may spend more time in airports than exploring the country – this is where our travel consultants come in! There are often connections needed between cities. For example, a change of plane in Sao Paulo or in Brasilia. Cities such as Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro have more than one airport and it is often more convenient to fly from the city center airport, rather than international airport further out of the city. This is particularly the case in Rio where Santos Dumont is only a short drive from Copacabana and you get great views on take-off and landing too!
