Medellin had a bad reputation from the days of Pablo Escobar, but this is well in the past now, so yes it is safe to travel to Medellin. In common with many large cities, there are unsafe areas, but we only book hotels in areas that are safe for tourists and only arrange tours to safe parts of the city. A trip to Medellin is as safe as to most other cities in South America. As always, it is best to avoid wearing expensive jewellery and carrying valuables with you.
