Absolutely, Cartagena travel is safe. The historic center of Cartagena is safe for tourists and this is a very popular destination on any tour of Colombia. In common with many cities, it is best not to carry around valuables or expensive jewellery though. The same applies to Cartagenas beaches.

It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get from Cartagena to the Rosario Island in a speedboat. It is easy to visit the islands on a day trip, or to stay overnight.

Yes there are, though the walled city is the most famous attraction rather than the beaches. The area around Bocagrande has the citys most well known beaches and there are some just to the north of the city too. Also, it is possible to take boat trips to the Rosario Islands.
