Colorful rows of folded traditional textiles, including shawls and blankets with intricate designs, displayed on a market stall—an authentic sight on a South America Tour.
Day 2

After breakfast head to the airport to catch your flight to Cuzco and transfer to the Sacred Valley. Your tour here includes a visit to the Pisaq Market, Peru's most famous indigenous market, where local artisans sell handmade textiles, handicrafts, and fresh food. Enjoy a lunch at the market and a tour of the nearby Pisaq ruins. Continue on to Ollantaytambo at the center of the Sacred Valley. Visit the impressive Ollantaytambo ruins - large agricultural terraces built into the hillside overlooking the town and its surrounding farmlands. Spend the night in this tranquil town.

A blue train car labeled Hiram Bingham crosses a red bridge over a river, surrounded by green trees and tall mountains under a clear sky—an iconic tour en route to Machu Picchu.
Day 3

Have an early breakfast before heading to the station where you'll catch a scenic train to Aguas Calientes. There, take a shuttle bus up to Machu Picchu. Take a tour of the ruins and enjoy the amazing architecture and beautiful landscapes of the valley. Visit the Watchman's Hut, the Inca Bridge, and the temple of the three windows. Afterwards, return to Aguas Calientes where you'll spend the night.

Ancient stone ruins of Machu Picchu sit on green terraced slopes, with a tall, steep mountain rising dramatically in the background—an unforgettable sight on your tour before venturing into the nearby Amazon Jungle.
Day 4

On this free morning, you can opt to visit Machu Picchu early in the morning to enjoy a breathtaking view of the sunrise over the ruins. Later, head back to Cuzco by train and spend the night at your hotel. You may want to go shopping for handmade souvenirs in the many shops in downtown Cuzco.

Day 5

After breakfast, a travel guide will escort your to your Cuzco hotel, located near the Plaza de Armas. Relax and get accustomed to the altitude during the rest of the morning. In the afternoon, take a half-day city tour and discover Cuzco's highlights such as the Cathedral and the Inca Temple of the Sun called Korikancha. Go outside the city to visit the ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay and Qenqo.

A tropical river scene with tall palm trees on the right, dense green forest evoking the Amazon Jungle in the background, and a faint rainbow arcing across a partly cloudy blue sky.
Day 6

Arrive at the Puerto Maldonado airport where a guide will welcome you and escort you to your Amazon lodge. The tours offered at the lodge depend on availability and the lodge category you are looking for.

The lodges include full-board services and expert guides that will show you around the Peruvian Amazon, with its vast landscapes and its exotic fauna.

A group of green parrots gathers on a rocky, clay-covered hillside near lush foliage in the Amazon Jungle, likely feeding or socializing together in this vibrant natural setting.
Day 7

Wake up early to have breakfast and visit a parrot clay lick. There watch dozens and dozens of red and green macaws, large parrots and yellow-crowned Amazons, and enjoy the sight of this colorful wildlife. After that head to a small parakeet clay lick to observe Blue Headed Parrots, Orange-Cheeked Parrots, Cobalt-winged parakeets and if you are lucky the rare Rock Parakeet. In the afternoon learn more about the rainforest ecology and natural history during a walk with a member of the community and a naturalist guide. Afterwards, head back to the lodge to enjoy a nice cocktail and relax on a hammock.

A colonial-style courtyard with red arches, a central fountain, and gardens, surrounded by a two-story cloister—perfect for a relaxing tour. In the background, church domes and a tall bell tower glow at sunset.
