A grand, historic opera house with ornate architectural details, arched windows, and columns stands under a clear blue sky in Argentina. People walk near the entrance, and a manicured lawn is in the foreground.
Day 2

Discover this fascinating city on a guided half-day city tour. Drive down the incredible 9 de Julio Avenue, the largest boulevard in the world. At its head, gaze up at the spire of the striking Obelisk, a standout symbol of Buenos Aires, and pass by the classic and elegant Colon Theatre. Visit the traditional San Telmo and La Boca barrios in the south, then head downtown to ramble through the hustle and bustle of Plaza de Mayo and visit the Government House, colloquially known as the “Pink House”. Then head to the modern Puerto Madero on the coast and see the sight of marine vessels bobbing in the water. Finally, feel chic and glamorous while browsing the boutiques in the fashionable Palermo and classy Recoleta neighborhoods.

A stone building with wooden balconies and a tall clock tower stands under a partly cloudy Patagonia sky. A bench and streetlamp are in the foreground, with a black car parked nearby.
Day 3

This morning, head to the airport to board a domestic flight to Bariloche which lies on the shore of Nahuel Huapi Lake and originally called Buriloche, meaning “people on the other side of the hills” in the local Mapuche language. Take the time to experience the delights of Bariloche, world-famous for enthralling panoramic landscapes, serene blue lakes and mouth-watering chocolate. This winning trifecta is sure to keep all your senses satisfied while exploring the town. During your time here, pull up a chair at one of the cute and cozy teahouses, a legacy of the Welsh immigrants, and sip on a brew of freshly-made tea.

Snow-capped mountains rise above dense green forests, reflected in a calm, clear Patagonian lake under a bright blue sky with scattered clouds. Rocks and reeds are visible in the lake’s foreground.
Day 4

Travel from Bariloche to the Huenuleo Prairie and take in the sweeping views of Argentina’s Lake District. Cross Manso River and enter the Nahuel Huapi National Park, a natural reserve of vast, clear lakes teeming with exotic plant and animal life. Visit the awe-inspiring Mount Tronador on a guided tour, famous for the thunderous sound of massive columns of glaciers that occasionally calve off and crash to the surface. Stop at the curiously colored Black Glacier and head to the base of the mount, now an extinct volcano. Leisurely ramble through the area, enjoy lunch in the great outdoors and return to your hotel following the same route home.

Note: The entrance fee to Nahuel Huapi is to be paid directly on the spot.

Transfer to the Pañuelo Pier and board a boat to sail over Nahuel Huapi Lake before arriving at Blest Port to take a bus to Alegre Port. Admire its rustic wooden buildings recognized as National Monuments and the unique Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Then climb Philippi Hill to experience unrivaled views of the striking azure lakes embraced by the peaks of towering volcanoes. In Puerto Montt, visit its cathedrals, the popular main square and the German settler monument. During low tide, visitors can spy the fossil forest of Punta Pelluco from the beach. Next, wander through the local handicraft and seafood market and get a sense of daily life, noting the colorful sights and sounds. Then return to your hotel in Puerto Natales to spend your last night in the park.
