About Rebecca Deering

As the Director of Sales, Rebecca Deering brings an unparalleled level of firsthand knowledge and passion to the SouthAmerica.travel team. Her journey began in 2008 when she moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, in search of adventure—a move that turned into a six-year residency and a lifelong connection to the continent. Today, she considers Argentina her adopted home country, further solidified by her marriage to her Argentine husband, Felix, in 2016.

Rebecca’s travel portfolio is exhaustive, covering Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, and even two nine-day fly-cruises to Antarctica. This extensive field experience allows her to lead the sales team with a focus on authenticity, ensuring that every trip planned is backed by real-world insights and a deep understanding of local cultures.

Expertise & Favorite Destinations

  • Regional Specialist: In-depth knowledge of high-adventure locales including the Uyuni Salt Flats (Bolivia), the Atacama Desert (Chile), and Los Glaciares National Park (Argentina).
  • Niche Travel: Expert in Antarctic fly-cruises and Amazon Rainforest expeditions, specifically in the Ecuadorian sector.
  • Strategic Leadership: Based in Austin, Texas, Rebecca travels frequently between our global offices to maintain a cohesive, high-standard service for travelers worldwide.

When she isn’t scouting new destinations or managing global sales, Rebecca enjoys exploring vintage shops, reading true crime, and spending time at the lake with her husband, son, and dog. Her personal mission remains clear: to share the “weird and wonderful” soul of South America with every traveler she meets.
