Summary - Cristalino Lodge | Luxurious Amazonian experience easily combined with the Pantanal

First class lodge in the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest

Cristalino Lodge is one of the most comfortable lodges in the Amazon. Unlike most Amazon lodges in Brazil, it is in the southern Amazon. This is an area of exceptional biodiversity, even for the Amazon! This location makes it very easy to combine a visit here with a trip to the Pantanal – Brazil’s seasonally flooded wetland, which is just an hour’s flight away.

The Lodge
There are 18 rooms and suites at Cristalino Lodge in a variety of different sizes, all are of a high standard. The lodge’s architecture is impressive and is designed to integrate with the surrounding forest. The bar has a beautiful deck with a firepit. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor areas and serves regional and Brazilian cuisine. Other public areas include a living room, library and presentation room, plus a spectacular floating deck on the river.

Socially Responsible & Sustainable
Cristalino Lodge supports the Cristalino Foundation which carries out environmental education and research in this region. The lodge has been designed with sustainability in mind, for example water is heated by solar panels, and rooms are designed with ventilation that means air conditioning is not needed.

Location
Get to Cristalino by taking a short flight from Cuiaba to Alta Floresta. From here a road journey of an hour and finally a 30 minute boat trip gets you to the lodge. Cuiaba is the main starting point for visits to the northern Pantanal, so it is very easy to combine Cristalino Lodge with a stay in the Amazon – a perfect combination for anyone interesting in nature and wildlife.

Activities
Tours take place with a maximum of eight guests per guide. The lodge has two 50 meter canopy towers for observation of the canopy and all the lives in it. Half day tours are led by expert English speaking guides and take place each morning and afternoon. Activities include hikes (there are more than 18 miles of trails), boat trips, visits to the canopy towers, wildlife observation and canoeing. Specialist bird watching and photography trips are available too (arranged in advance).

This is a tour extension, stay at this lodge as part of a full tour.
