Example Itinerary – Fully Customizable

Day 1

At 2 pm, meet your driver and your group (around 8 and 12 people) at the meeting point in Puerto Iguazú, the Argentine side of the Iguassu Falls.

Once your luggage is dispatched and everything is ready, board the van and transfer to Yacutinga Lodge, 80 km / 50 mi away. The landscape is very picturesque, characterized by its reddish soil, the various shades of greens, the colonist and the Yerba Mate farms.

Upon arrival at the lodge you’ll be welcomed by a guide, who will give you an insight into the Yacutinga Reserve, the actions they are undertaking to protect its flora and fauna, and the type of activities you can take.

Enjoy dinner at the restaurant, which combines traditional Guarani, Paraguayan and Argentine flavors with ingredients cultivated at their own farm and produced by the locals, promoting the regional economy.

Day 2

After the breakfast, go kayaking along the San Francisco stream flowing into the Natural Reserve. The early morning is the perfect time for a photo-safari and general fauna observation in this true-life corridors. Sailing these waters is extremely relaxing and gives you the opportunity to move along the gallery forests in silence. Learn about the local flora and how the roots have adapted to the flood soil.

Salt patches are very common on the shores of these streams and wild animals often seek these places, therefore it is common to find animal footprints and traces in the muddy shores.

Duration: 3 hours.

Hiking:
Take an interpretative walk in the afternoon, conducted by expert guides who provide with useful information on the several natural environments, their flora and their fauna. Look for the old-growth trees, medicinal plants, orchids, bromeliads, butterflies, beetles, birds and mammals that live within the Iguassu Rainforest.

After dinner, take a night walk to discover the nocturnal forest. The sounds of nature produce a very complex symphony of which you can silently take part. The owls start their activities as the Milky Way becomes your ceiling. The aim of this hike is to sharpen your senses and make you feel in contact with nature.

Day 3

Enjoy the delicious fruits of the rainforest at breakfast and afterwards spend the rest of your stay at the lodge at your leisure. If you want to contribute to the preservation of the reserve and learn more about this ecosystem, you can participate in the lodge’s Orchid rescue program.

At mid-morning check out and return to Puerto Iguazú by land, arriving around 1 pm.
