This 4 Day Bolivia adventure tour takes you into the heart of Bolivia, from the mines of Potosi, to the salt flats of Uyuni, and the high altitude capital of La Paz.
Note: This is a tour extension, combine this tour with one of our full package tours.
Departure in private transport from Potosi towards Tahua, located in the northern shores of the Uyuni Salt Flat. On route visit the Pulacayo mines. Box lunch. Upon arriving to the salt flat, admire the mighty Tunupa Volcano as you make your way by car to ascend it and reach Coquesa, where you will stop at the Museum of the Mummies. Accommodation at the Tayka Salt Hotel, dinner and over night stay.
Breakfast. Departure from Tahua to visit the Uyuni Salt Flat and Incahuasi Island, this island is located in the heart of the salt flat and is the greatest of a group of islands that represents an isolated ecosystem. The island is populated with a cacti species that measures up to 12 meters high (26, 25 feet), providing an impressive overview. In the afternoon departure towards the southern area, to visit the chain of mountain lakes: Canapa, Hedionda, Chiarkota, Honda and Ramaditas. Accommodation at Hotel Tayka del Desierto. Dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast. Departure towards the National Reserve of Andean Fauna Eduardo Avaroa and visit the Stone Tree. Our next stop is Chalviri, where we will see a stunning array of natural beauty that comes forth from a palate of colors that are provided by nature in the form of white snow with a backdrop of reddish and brown desert colors, and a hint of an intense blue present in the scattered lagoons. In this site, you will have the opportunity to bathe and relax in the Polques Hot Springs. Box lunch. Then visit the Green Lagoon, an impressive aquatic mirror that resembles a giant emerald with a particular brightness in the mornings and afternoons; its color is due to the high magnesium content in the water. Near this lagoon is the Licancabur Volcano (5,868 meters above sea level). We will then stop at the Red Lagoon, which is very impressive because of its red color, due to the fine sediment accumulation of the same color on the surface, as well as the pigmentation of a certain type of seaweed. This lagoon is populated by three species of flamencos. In the late afternoon arrival in the town of Colchani. Dinner and overnight stay at the salt hotel.
Enjoy an early breakfast and then depart to the airport, to take a flight to La Paz.
