Day 1

Upon arrival at Calama airport, transfer to Alto Atacama, your home for the next 4 days.

After leaving your luggage at your room, explore the spa, the swimming pool, and the other areas of the lodge. Its warm architecture, location, and windows allow you to feel the presence of the desert, making this trip a complete immersion into Atacama.

Create your itinerary with one of your guides choosing from the wide variety of the excursions offered by the lodge.

Sunset in the Moon Valley:
Transfer from the lodge via Quitor to the crossroads with Licancabur Street following the road to Calama towards Kari Lookout. Afterwards, drive to the Tres Marías, the central crater and the amphitheater. Appreciate the sunset from the plateau of the desert either from the amphitheatre or the Kari Lookout.

Day 2

Today, transfer by van to Toconao village, meaning 'Hidden Valley' in Kunza. Visit the church, the square, the bell tower, and the local handicraft market. Continue the route to the Suncor sector on the National Flamingo Reserve. At the Chaxas lagoon, you can watch a 14-minute video to learn about the history of this ecosystem. Walk a 400-meter circuit for about 30 minutes to observe the flora and birdlife of the area. Contemplate the sunset with appetizers and return to Alto Atacama.

Day 3

Today, take a tour to observe the drawings made by ancient Atacama people and learn the meaning behinds them.

Depart by van towards the Hierbas Buenas area, where you will see petroglyphs that reflect the continuous movements of ancient shepherds.

Continue to Santiago de Rio Grande to learn about the modern pastoral-agricultural methods used by the villagers, and appreciate the local architecture and handicrafts. Head to the Rainbow Valley, located in Matancilla, and admire the multicolor geological shapes made up of copper oxide, sulfur, iron, and gypsum crystals.

Return to Alto Atacama.

After these days experiencing the lifestyle in the desert, check out at noon and transfer to Calama airport.
