Santiago Wine Tour - Tour Extension

Enjoy a 5-nights in Santiago and visit the different attractions surrounding Santiago de Chile. Start your trip in Santiago and go on a city tour where you will visit two artisan markets. Afterwards, travel to Curacavi and try the delicious ‘chicha’ drink. Visit the two coastal towns of Viña del Mar and Valparaíso, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003. Finish your Santiago Wine Tour in the Colchagua Valley to sip on exquisite Chilean wines!

All excursions to the wineries are subject to availability and will need to be confirmed. This specific tour is a group tour based on a size of about 14 people if you would like to customize this as a private tour please talk to one of our expert Travel Consultants.

Day 1

Greet your guide upon arrival at the Santiago airport and transfer to your hotel, your home for the next six days.

Day 2

Discover the Chilean capital on a half-day city tour today. Visit all the main attractions including the main square and the majestic La Moneda government palace. In the afternoon, browse for a bargain or chat with the local vendors about their handicrafts at two local artisan markets, El Secreto and Los Dominicanos. Appreciate the local culture and soak up the atmosphere of Santiago.

Day 3

Delve into the history of wine in the Santiago region today. Visit a boutique winery in the countryside. Learn about the different grape varieties that are cultivated and harvested in the valley and take a moment to sample and appreciate the different aromas and flavors of some of their finest wines. Enjoy a mouth-watering lunch at a renowned Mediterranean-style restaurant, where local produce is combined to create an exceptional culinary experience. To top off the tour, indulge your sweet tooth and visit a traditional confectioner to sample some of the country’s most tempting candies. After treating your stomach and tastebuds, transfer back to your hotel in Santiago.

Day 4

Head to the coast today for a view of the ocean and a taste of salty air on a full-day excursion to Viña del Mar and Valparaíso. These seaport cities are vital to the cultural fabric of the area. Valparaíso’s historic quarter was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003 and the city is also home to the Chilean Nobel Prize winner Pablo Neruda. One of his three houses was constructed here and is now the La Sebastiana museum. Return to your hotel in Santiago in the afternoon.

Day 5

Depart for a full-day tour of the Colchagua Valley for a couple of wine tastings, located approximately 144kms away from Santiago. Visit the Viu Manent Winery, enjoy a glass or two and taste the different wines they offer. Then travel to Santa Cruz Hotel for lunch to soak up the wine. Continue to either the Montes or the Montgras Vineyards and sample even more local varieties. Try to distinguish between the unique textures and flavors of the wines. After the tour, return to your hotel in Santiago.

Day 6

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Santiago and then transfer to the airport to continue your journey through South America.
