We will arrive at Laguna Amarga to check in and then continue to the trailhead at Cerro Paine Reserve. Here, you will get ready for the hike and receive important instructions from your guide. The trek starts with a steady climb for the first 1.5 hours, moving through low vegetation and gentle slopes to reach the “Paso de los Vientos.” From this point, we will descend for about 30 minutes to the Refugio Chileno for a brief rest. The trail then takes you through lenga forests along the Ascensio River, which you will cross several times over the next hour.
