Example Itinerary – Fully Customizable

Day 1

Fly into the Puerto Maldonado airport, where your guide will be waiting for you. Stop by the must-see Inkaterra Butterfly House near the airport, before leaving the city. Your guide will take you to the port, where you'll board an outboard motorboat for a 45-minute ride along the Madre de Dios River. Once you reach the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica Lodge, you'll receive a short briefing and welcome drink from the staff, explaining all the available activities that you can do during your stay.

Unpack, rest in your bungalow or suite, and have lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, take a guided walk along the trails surrounding the lodge to get acquainted with the area. In the evening, take a twilight riverboat excursion to enjoy the water at sunset.

Return to the lodge, and have some cocktails with your fellow guests before dinner. After the meal, relax in the main lodge room or retire to your bungalow.

Day 2

Wake up early to avoid the heat and enjoy a hearty breakfast while nature is at its fullest. This morning, enjoy an excursion to Sandoval Lake, which is the "jewel" in the Tambopata National Reserve. There are many giant river otters, birds, and other wildlife who call this lake home. In the afternoon, return to the lodge for lunch. You may want to try the canopy walk, to see the treetops and maybe even glimpse the sunset from the forest canopy. In the evening, have cocktails and dinner, and enjoy an informative presentation on the local flora and fauna.

Day 3

Enjoy a full breakfast before departing the lodge. Take the 45-minute return boat trip on the Madre de Dios River to Puerto Maldonado Airport.
