In just two days, learn everything there is to know about the organic and fair production of cacao straight from a Peruvian local and cacao expert. On this Plantations Tour in Peru, acquire more than just the production of coffee, tea, and other exotic fruits – take your learning one step further and actually help create coffee and hot chocolate alongside specialists! This short and very sweet tour is one you do not want your tastebuds to miss.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Be greeted by a private guide and then transfer to the organic farm from Cuzco. Upon arrival, enjoy a refreshing welcome juice while getting settled. In the afternoon, experience a lunch of typical Peruvian cuisine infused with regional flavors. Later, discover the farming techniques used to produce exotic fruits, nuts, spices, cacao, tea, and coffee. Tastings of the food will be available to travelers according to the season. Then, learn how to prepare coffee “the jungle way," which features peeling, roasting, and grinding the coffee.

In the evening, share some sweet moments with the local community throughout dinner. Finally, finish the day learning how to drink the coffee like a local.

Day 2

Breakfast is enjoyed early in the morning and is, of course, served alongside a cup of exceptional coffee. With a full and happy belly, embark on another tour of the farm. Discover the cacao tree and its fruits, learn about the harvest and fermentation of the cacao beans, and then learn how to prepare a hot chocolate with organic cacao.

In the afternoon, enjoy a farewell lunch at the farm before heading back to the hotel in Cusco.
