Sample Itinerary

A vibrant Montevideo cityscape at dusk shows illuminated buildings, busy streets, and palm trees in the foreground, with a calm bay and ships visible under a colorful sunset sky in the background.
Day 1

Upon arrival at Colonia Port or Bus Station, transfer to your hotel.

Originally founded by the Portuguese and afterwards conquered by the Spanish, all of that during the 17th century, Colonia is a successful combination of the colonial architectonic styles of these two nations and modern designs built by the Uruguayans. It was this unique characteristic that made it gain recognition by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1995.

In the afternoon, stroll through the alluring stone-walled streets of Colonia on a private walking tour. Discover the city’s main attractions, such as the Calle de los Suspiros, the lighthouse, the forts, the Spanish and Portuguese museums, and the main square: Plaza Mayor. Return to your hotel in Colonia, where you will spend the night.

A large equestrian statue on a stone pedestal stands in front of the historic Palacio Salvo and palm trees in Plaza Independencia, Montevideo, Uruguay, under a clear blue sky—a must-see before visiting Punta del Este or Colonia.
Day 2

Have breakfast at your hotel and transfer to Colonia bus station to take a bus to Montevideo. Upon arrival at Tres Cruces bus station in the Uruguayan Capital, transfer to your hotel and check in.

Explore Montevideo on a private city tour during the afternoon, visiting its most important landmarks, including Plaza Independencia (the Main Square), the Legislative Palace, the traditional Prado neighborhood, the Old City and the typical Mercado del Puerto. For lunch, you can enjoy a delicious Southern Atlantic fish at the Port (not included).

Uruguay counts with two music genres considered World Intangible Cultural Heritages: tango (a ‘Rioplatense’ genre) and milonga.

Tonight, enjoy a dinner-show featuring these music styles along with Candombe and other typical Uruguayan dances.

Return to your hotel in Montevideo.

White, whimsical building with curved shapes and black-framed windows overlooks the calm sea of Uruguay. Patio tables with umbrellas and potted plants in the foreground rest under a clear sky, capturing the relaxed rhythm of coastal living.
Day 3

After breakfast, head to Punta del Este, the most important beach destination in the country, on a SIB tour. On your way, visit the San Antonio Hill, in Piriápolis, to appreciate the panoramic views of the Plata River Coast. Stop in Casapueblo, an extravagant construction made by the famous Uruguayan artist Carlos Páez Villaró, and visit to his atelier (entrance not included).

Tour to discover the city's main attractions: Juan Gorlero Avenue, the yachts port, and its residential areas. Crossing the undulated La Barra bridge, visit the Indigenous Park, the Beverly Hills neighborhood, and Mansa and Brava beaches.

Return to your hotel in Montevideo in the late afternoon.

A rustic, weathered building with faded red walls and a tiled roof stands beside a cobblestone street in Colonia, surrounded by greenery and flowering plants under a partly cloudy sky.
Day 4

Have breakfast at your hotel and transfer to Carrasco International Airport, to return home or continue your journey throughout South America.
