Tourist Visa Info

Travel to the Galapagos Islands is visa-free for most citizens of the world, and the islands, controlled by the country of Ecuador, uses the US Dollar, making travel easy. Most international inbound flights to Ecuador will require an overnight in Quito before continuing on to the Galapagos Islands, where one can choose between one hundred licensed cruise vessels, from small (6 person) to large (100) size, and all levels of luxury, or one of several island lodges, with daily excursions to the surrounding islands. While no visa is required for most travelers, Ecuador does require each traveler to purchase a Park Entrance Fee upon landing in Baltra Airport, the jumping off point for all travel to the Galapagos.
