Chile Wine Tours

A Chile wine tour consists of cycling gently through the vineyards, learning about the country’s finest produce, and sampling Carmenere, Sauvignon Blanc, and other fine wines. From world-class wineries like Concha y Toro to boutique bodegas in the Maipo and Colchagua Valleys. Chile’s wine region offers some of the best vineyards in the world. Chile’s wine region is in the center of the country, not far from Santiago. It is possible to visit wineries on day trips. Santiago wine tours include Maipo Valley Wine Tours and Casablanca Valley Wine tours. Consider combining Chile and Argentina wine tours – from Santiago, it is easy to cross the Andes to Mendoza in Argentina either by a spectacular road journey or a short flight.

Chile Wine Travel FAQ’s

Thinking about a Chile wine trip? Here’s a list of frequently asked questions we often hear from our guests.

Where is Chile wine country?

The main wine areas of Chile are within a few hours of the capital – Santiago. There are numerous wine tours from Santiago and being the country’s capital, it is easy to incorporate wine tours as part of a longer Chile trip.

How far is Colchagua Valley from Santiago?

From Santiago to the town of Santa Cruz in Chile’s Colchagua Valley takes a couple of hours by road. It is possible to take a day tour to the valley from Santiago or stay overnight in a winery or hotel in this pleasant town.

How many vineyards are in Chile?

There are well over 300 wineries in Chile. Many wineries can be visited by the public as part of a wine tour.

How do you get to Concha y Toro winery from Santiago?

By far the easiest way to visit the Concha y Toro winery is to take a day tour from Santiago. These are good value and convenient. The journey takes about two hours and it is possible to take a tour that includes other wineries in the Colchagua Valley too – perhaps less famous though with at least the same high standard of wine. Alternatively, you can rent a car, but this will limit your wine tasting and is probably not worth the hassle.
